2001 Corsair 31R

$95,000.00

Location: US

Hull Material: Fiberglass

Trident is blazingly quick, capable of reaching speeds over 25 knots. She has been modified with sails and custom features that tame the high wind conditions found on San Francisco Bay. She has an extra long cockpit that can comfortably accommodate you and your crew. The interior seems large. There is a forepeak berth area with a head compartment. The main salon has a galley module to the port near the companionway. There is a sink, but there is no fresh water system or stove. There are two long bench seats that could be used for berths. But, the interior is basic. Nicely finished but purposely-kept simple to save weight.

Basic Details

This Corsair 31 was one of the latest versions of the "R" model. The head compartment is aft in the salon leaving the main cabin unobstructed and giving the interior a larger appearance. Unlike the previous aft cockpit model, the cockpit is 2 feet longer and is completely open without the previous traveler hump. The outboard engine is an electric start; transom hung and can be hand steered to improve close-in maneuvering. The wing nets extend all the way to the ama and eliminate the awkward aluminum beam of the previous F-31.

Corsair 31R Description

The Corsair 31R is an enhanced performance version of the well-proven, maxi-trailerable F-31. Like all earlier Corsair sport cruisers is exceptionally fast, roomy, and comfortable. In this the R version, however, some traditional cruising amenities have been eliminated to save weight, and a substantially larger sail plan is spread on a modern rotating rig to give the already sporty Corsair 31 an extra jolt of adrenaline that is sure to please the true performance enthusiast. The mast is a beautifully finished aluminum rotating wing section developed for Corsair. It is two feet, six inches taller than the older F-31 mast. It is even easier to handle. It has less weight aloft, it gives the boat an easier motion, even in chop. The sail plan is simple and efficient with a square-top mainsail, blade jib, asymmetric spinnaker, and screacher. Flown from the end of a seven-foot bow sprit, the roller furling screacher is one of the most powerful and versatile sails in the inventory and can be used to windward in light airs instead of a genoa. Interior moldings and equipment have been kept to a minimum to save weight, which boosts sailing performance. Nevertheless, cabins are spacious with standing headroom, a double bunk forward, and two single settees in the main cabin. Cruising amenities, such as a head and galley, can be selectively added.
